OVER 18? Yes
CHARACTERS IN-GAME: Rohan Kishibe, JJ Leroy, Louis

CHARACTER
NAME: Ryo Asuka
CANON: Devilman: Crybaby
CANON POINT: Post-Canon: End of Episode 10
AGE: 16 as Ryo, Ageless as Satan
BACKGROUND: Here & Episode Guide - as History cuts off only a few episodes in.

PERSONALITY:
Motivated: While Ryo's motivations shift a little as he learns and discovers things about both himself and the world around him - they are most simply described as: finding the truth, revealing the truth to the world, creating a world safe for devils, and his own survival. Ryo is the type of guy who will try and achieve his goals by any means necessary. This includes him injuring people to get Amon to come and take over Akira (and putting his own life on the line in the process), getting humanity to wipe out themselves by revealing devils, and then eventually killing Akira. Emotions and past relationships can't stop him from trying to get what he wants. In his search for the truth, he is the guy who will ask questions and is fascinated by the world around him, and is always learning. He's curious about a world's history and it's people in a purely intellectual and scientific way, given that he traveled a lot to study ancient cultures and various tribes through the world.

Loner: While Ryo works with many people, his personal relationships are few and far between. In fact, his only friend through the series is Akira (and while he seems to care for Akira, he's not even great at setting up boundaries with him - up to and including tracking his phone). The lack of friends gives the impression he's a bit of a loner. He appears on TV with interviewers, is with his caretaker - Jenny, and spends time with other colleagues, these relationships are best described as nothing but superficial. He treats his colleagues respectfully, and that respect is often returned. He's so respected that the world takes a lot of advice from him in regards to devils when he appears on television, and as far as they know - he's some sixteen year old punk!

Apathetic: Ryo's apathy is most likely responsible for his inability to form strong bonds with pretty much anyone. Even before he knows he's Satan, he doesn't seem to hold other life at high value if it is weak or getting in the way. He kills without hesitation, and his threats are typically things he follows through with, too. Ryo doesn't hesitate to step on others, and is willing to sacrifice Miki ("Live with me, or die with her") if he thinks she'll interfere with his relationship with Akira and the goals that they shared at the time. This shows that he doesn't even really value how Akira feels, so he's definitely not going to value others' feelings. For Ryo, it's logic before empathy - even from when he is young. It makes him seem cold and uncaring - because he is. Please note that in canon, the only person he expresses any level of care towards Akira - even including crying over him after he kills him. These feelings are not extended to others, even if Akira is present to witness it.

Logical Survivor: While Satan will constantly reincarnate, his desire to survive goes beyond this and extends to when he believed he was human. He definitely believes in survival of the strongest, and has certainly said it as much throughout the series. He sees devils as strong - since they are always evolving and changing to better their survival chances. He sees this evolution as strength. He figures you may as well eradicate the weak - even when he's young, and even when the weak is a sick kitten. Ryo applies his ability to survive to his own life when he discovers devils, too. He'll do whatever is needed to survive, and cares little about breaking the law for his own sake (and sometimes, Akira's).

Clever & Manipulative: He's not only book smart - with a PhD at a young age - and being respected by colleagues; he's also smart about people. While he is apathetic regarding other people's feelings, he understands that human emotions are a good tool if one wishes to get them to eradicate each other. In Akira's case, he appeals to his empathy and need to help people (killing devils will help save humans), and with the entirety of humankind - he appeals to fear (fear devils as dangerous villains, turning them against each other by saying their neighbor could be a devil, getting them to start murdering each other). So, even if he doesn't necessarily feel things the same way that others do, he certainly knows what those feelings are, and prefers to use them to his advantage. To Ryo, emotions are an oil-soaked rag on a fire. He's good at saying the exactly right things to make things work out for him - and...they really almost do! Almost.

Another thing to note in this is that he is pretty good in getting others to perceive him the way that he wants to be perceived. This is from small scale, to being able to appear normal on television when interacting with colleagues - to something big like convincing a population as to how devils are made by making himself appear as an authority on them. He's not only a good liar, but he is a decent actor.

Traitor: For all that he values Akira, he is still very goal driven when it comes down to survival. This is to the point where he is willing to even throw someone he deeply cares for under the bus by outing him as a Devilman, then eventually killing him. This says that no one is immune to being subjected to Ryo's whims. He is not to be trusted, even if he ends up liking you along the way.

The Recidivist: He absolutely would give it another go if he thought he could be successful. He is ultimately Satan, and he will absolutely return to manipulating, lying, using people as he sees fit.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Some are noted here, as well See below for a summary of nerfs/etc.
As Ryo
● Genius: At 16, Ryo is a college level professor in the United States. He has been on several archaeological digs, and has traveled. It's fair to say that this isn't exclusively because of hard work, but natural intellect.
● Good with a gun: He has good aim and a decent understanding of weaponry.
● Polyglot: While not relevant here necessarily, he is able to speak several languages - including that of Amazonian tribes. Again, this is probably attributed in part to who he actually is.

As Satan
Note: I'll note where I plan on nerfing things for him & where I plan to nerf them to. I do plan to pretty much nerf into nothingness anything that is highly destructive/offense skills because he enjoys destruction destruction. Also, would plan to make most of his kept abilities be a pretty big Chroma drain.
● Transformation: Ryo has full access to his body/shape as Satan. I will maintain his ability to access his form of Satan (the 12-winged, long-haired angel).
● Flight/Teleportation/Levitation: Flight, he only has access to while he's Satan, and I understand there's limited distance/height he can access with this. Teleportation/Levitation only seems to happen when he puts up a force field. I feel like this would be nerfed to short distances as well as only being able to get a few feet off the ground as far as he's able to levitate.
● Accelerated healing: He had this skill as both Satan & Ryo - where he recovered from injury faster than the average human. He's known this since before realizing who he was, so planned to keep this to full capacity, as it is simply "better than a human" and not an instant-heal.
● Force fields: ...Or really, barriers. While in canon, they are pretty expansive & large, I plan to nerf them to the point where they're only really good for himself (so smaller in size), or those in his close, personal space. These are extremely effective (ie: can stop bullets); however, in Prismatica - would be a massive Chroma drain.
● Materialize things: In canon, we can see him materializing water. I see no reason that he would need to keep this skill, and therefore it would be fully nerfed/eliminated.
● Life & Death: Ryo can both make things like plants grow, and destroy/kill things without much more than a thought. Obviously, getting rid of the death portion of this entirely. And decreasing the effectiveness of the life portion in two places: since we only really see it used on plant life in canon, it would simply accelerate the growth speed of plantlife, rather than the immediate gratification he'd get in canon. It's not shown that he can use it on anything sentient, therefore - I would not explore this option with him, and would leave it exclusive to plant life.
● Powerful telekentic force/Lightbeams/Lightning Bolts: To the point where he essentially saws the moon in half in canon with a giant light beam. This is going to be fully nerfed, of course. This is by far his most destructive and world-ending set of skills.

INVENTORY:
● Phone (obviously not operational beyond that of being a storage device)
● 2x Handguns
● Camcorder
● Spare SD card for camcorder

MOONBLESSING: Iris.
